This is called "Self Monitoring" and is adequate in this digital era to be acceptable by your home or business insurance companies, BUT:

This does warrant further cover dependant upon the higher the risk factor and your insurance company may insist on having external monitoring and police calling as a necessity!

What type of Monitoring do I need?

Video Surveillance Systems - VSS ( CCTV ) Monitoring is dependant upon how many cameras you have connected and whether they are directly linked to your alarm system. If they are not linked to your alarm system then the monitoring centre can only visually monitor the VSS ( CCTV ) Cameras upon an active alarm signal from the panel. If they are directly linked to the alarm panel then a 24 hour viewable monitoring is achievable.

So you can self monitor your alarm system from the App provided upon installation but if you require a Police Calling Feature then a special radio card will need to be installed into your alarm panel. In the event of a power cut or internet failure, the signal will still go directly to the Monitoring Centre and then the Police Station after a confirmed activation as well as designated keyholders.
